It depends upon if it is common in your line of work. If you don't know if you should use a resume objective, then you will have to decide if it is better to go the safe route and include one. If it is proper for your field to have a resume objective, then using one of these samples is doing what is accepted. Otherwise, you need to gauge the negative impact, if any, that using one would create. Possibly it doesn't even matter, the employer may ignore it or give it little weight in the hiring process.
