First Assistant Manager to SMOctober 2007 - February 2010
  • Originally seasonal, promoted twice within 6 months to become First Assistant Manager.
  • Leadership: Maintained employee motivation and morale; ran sales-driving contests; created competition without resentment; supervised while having employees train newcomers to create sense of responsibility and pride. Very effective.
  • Sales: Consistently ranked solid top 5 in company throughout my employment in personal sales statistics across the board. Within top 3 every month in region...2 exceptions. Store showed consistently positive trend compared to other stores in region, despite recession closing many stores throughout the nation.
  • Operations: Primary personal goal was to make Store manager's job as easy as possible. I taught myself how to manage paperwork / back office duties so that she did not have to worry about them. Calculated numbers using various reports, maintained supply status on a very limited budget, determined weekly and monthly goals and relayed them to team; ensured correct deposit & payroll figures were given to HQ; handled most of store's HR issues.
